Once more, we embark on a sacred pilgrimage to the divine sanctuary of Maa Vaishnodevi…

After our return from the breathtaking landscapes of Srinagar, myself and my companions, Aditya and Pulkit, felt compelled to stray from our path and seek the blessings of Vaishnodevi. With hearts full of reverence, we bid farewell to our fellow travelers bound for Delhi, knowing that our journey was far from over.

As the sun transformed Katra into a golden wonderland, it felt like we were being gently guided by something divine. Choosing personal connections over online convenience, we ended up at Ginger hotel, where a spontaneous chat with the receptionist landed us a better deal than we expected—a hopeful sign of good things ahead. 🌟

Snuggled up in our temporary home, we eagerly awaited the sunrise, knowing that something special awaited us just beyond the horizon. Following the advice of locals, we set out into the night, guided by stars twinkling like friendly lights above. 🌌

With hearts full and backpacks heavy, we began our pilgrimage, each step a testament to our devotion. Amidst the rugged beauty of the landscape, the lively tunes of dhol baaja filled the air, honoring the Mother Goddess’s endless grace and leaving us in awe. 🎶

Along the way, we took breaks to enjoy hot chai and comforting Maggi, sharing joyful moments with fellow travelers. Some of us opted for horse rides, moving along the trail as the sky above seemed to hold its breath, filled with anticipation and hope for what was to come. 🐎

Despite our weariness, the companionship of fellow pilgrims became our strength, reminding us of the shared bond we all carried. With each step, it felt like the stars above were cheering us on, bringing us closer to our destination. ✨

Upon arrival, we stowed away our personal belongings and embarked on our journey towards the divine presence.

Finally, we reached the summit, our hearts filled with reverence as we stood before Maa Vaishnodevi’s sacred shrine. Letting go of our worries, we entered the sanctum, feeling the presence of something greater surrounding us. 🙏

Returning, we were served prasad along with a blessed coin, a reminder of the divine grace bestowed upon us. After collecting our belongings, we completed our dinner and prepared for the next leg of our journey.

Tears of gratitude flowed as we bid goodbye to the sacred place, our souls uplifted by the blessings we received. Making our way to Bhairavnath Hill, we honored Lord Shiva, feeling a deeper connection with the divine. 🕉️

As we prepared to leave, a mix of emotions washed over us, reminding us of the profound impact our journey had on us. With heavy hearts and tearful goodbyes, we left Vaishnodevi’s sacred grounds, carrying its blessings with us wherever we go. 💖

Itinerary from Katra to Vaishnodevi for New Pilgrims:

1. Arrive in Katra, the base camp for the Vaishnodevi pilgrimage.
2. Register at the counter to obtain the necessary pass for the journey.
3. Begin the trek to the temple, approximately 14 kilometers uphill.
4. Consider taking breaks along the way to rest and rejuvenate.
5. Upon reaching the temple, surrender belongings at the locker facility.
6. Proceed to seek blessings from Maa Vaishnodevi.
7. After darshan, explore nearby attractions like Bhairavnath Hill.
8. Return to Katra to conclude the pilgrimage journey.
9. Depart from Katra with cherished memories and divine blessings.

Note: We also opted for a horse ride after covering a specific distance, with the fare totaling approximately 2500 rupees per person for the round trip.
